Djrum Announces Tour and First Album in Six Years, Shares New Song: Listen

Djrum, the UK producer and DJ, is back with his first new album in over six years; Under Tangled Silence arrives April 25 via Houndstooth. Leading the LP is the seven-minute single “Three Foxes Chasing Each Other,” which you can listen to below.

Djrum began creating a new album during Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, but a hard-drive meltdown destroyed nearly all of his work and, in the process, sent him spiraling. Inspired by a line from Patti Smith—“We go through life. We shed our skins. We become ourselves.”—to rethink starting over, he pushed himself to rebuild the record from scratch and reassess his musical processes.

Musically, Under Tangled Silence draws out another side of Djrum beyond the fantastic bass work he’s known for: his background as a classical pianist. Though the record is still fit for the dance floor, Djrum works in minimalist piano and ambient meditations across its 11-track runtime as well. It follows his 2018 full-length Portrait With Firewood and 2024’s Meaning’s Edge EP.

Djrum is also heading out on a short DJ tour this spring. It begins in Madrid, Spain, on March 8 and wraps up in London, England, on April 5, with stops in Bristol, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and other cities. Find his complete list of tour dates below.
