Review: State Of You – On a Knife’s Edge

All-new debut EP On a Knife’s Edge comes to you from the mind and experiences of State of You, and it was released on January 24.

The EP includes pre-released singles such as Two of a Kind and Under the Wire, along with an extra four tracks. Although no tracks massively stood out to me, I did thoroughly enjoy listening to the EP. The songs are melodic, but still with the gritty, distorted heaviness of metal.

The songs are well put-together, and very personal covering topics from feeling life’s pressure, mixed-relationships with alcohol, and embracing the harder emotions. They’re all themes that fans can relate to, while the experience is exclusive to the artist. It’s the vulnerability in songwriting that grabs my attention, although the quality of music itself is very good, and it is! It had me bobbing my head while I listened.

It’s an incredible debut EP, and it’s made me want to look out for what State of You have to release in the future.

But we all can enjoy On a Knife’s Edge
