Watch Jessica Pratt and Destroyer Perform on ‘Everybody’s Live’

The musicians collaborated on “Travel Light” and “World on a String”

Jessica Pratt and Destroyer joined forces on last night’s episode of Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney. The musicians performed two songs, Destroyer’s recent number “Travel Light” and Pratt’s 2024 single “World on a String.”

Destroyer, led by Dan Bejar, kicked things off with “Travel Light,” which appears on their latest LP, Dan’s Boogie, which arrived in March. Pratt accompanied the band on guitar before taking over vocals on her own track, off her fourth studio album, Here in the Pitch. The studio was decorated with a lounge vibe, including low lighting and mini table lamps.

Announcing the performance, Mulaney described the pairing as a “musical collaborative medley that all of us at the show have been looking forward to for weeks.” It’s the latest in a series of highly-anticipated musical acts who have appeared on the Netflix talk show.

Trending Stories

Earlier this week, Mulaney told Rolling Stone that “there’s no part of the show and there’s no part of the week that’s as exciting as when we first rehearse music.” So far this season, the show has tapped Kim Gordon and Kim Deal to perform Sonic Youth’s “Little Trouble Girl” live for the first time and reunited Canadian punk band METZ for an arbitrarily Christmas-themed episode.

“Every artist [on the show] is a favorite of ours,” Mulaney said. “But we were [also] super conscious of just what would be really kinetic on television. It’s as much about knowing that we’re collaborating with people who are going to have strong and great visual ideas and are going to just blow the roof off the studio.”
