Miley Cyrus is already planning her next move ahead of the release of her anticipated ninth album, Something Beautiful, out May 30.
During a fan event at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, California, on Tuesday, Cyrus debuted songs from her upcoming LP, while also teasing its follow-up record. “My next album is about to be extremely experimental, so have fun with that,” said the singer-songwriter before the small crowd gathered at the historic hotel. Shimmering in a mini dress, she added, “Something Beautiful is just the appetizer.”
Along with performing new tracks including the potent “More to Lose,” Cyrus also sang fan favorite “The Climb,” from her 2009 film Hannah Montana: The Movie. Elsewhere in the night, a couple got engaged at the Marmont event, prompting Cyrus to tell the pair to “get a bed, charge it to my car,” which was met with cheers from the crowd.
With just a few days to go before her album’s release, the singer has promoted its next single, “Easy Lover,” which drops with the album on Friday. In a pair of behind-the scenes Instagram clips, Cyrus is seen rehearsing choreography and trying on a turquoise costume as the track plays in the background.
Last week, Cyrus unveiled the Something Beautiful track list, including collaborations with Naomi Campbell and Brittany Howard. The songs will explore healing, transformation, and finding beauty in darkness, according to a press release. “All 13 songs have a special place in my heart,” Cyrus captioned a clip on X promoting the project.
