The singers take off to Saturn in the cinematic new visual
Zayn and Jisoo fly past Saturn and fall for each other on their new single. On Friday, the Blackpink superstar and former One Direction heartthrob teamed up for a dreamy, cosmic duet titled, “Eyes Closed,” which dropped alongside a sleek, outer-space-set video.
In the Interstellar-like visual, the pair float through a spaceship, drifting from separate corners before finally finding each other mid-orbit to harmonize on the chorus.
“Said, oh, we should fall in love with our eyes closed/Better if we keep it where we don’t know,” the duo sings on the chorus. “The beds we’ve been in, the namеs and the faces of who we wеre with/And, oh, ain’t nobody perfect, but it’s all good.”
Both Jisoo and Zayn have been teasing the new song for some time now, sharing videos and clips of the track and its lyrics. The new track comes several months before Zayn is set to host his Las Vegas residency in mid-January, and also a week after he announced that he’ll link with One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson for a Netflix series.
While Zayn seldom collaborates with other artists for his own music, he has linked up with Taylor Swift for Fifty Shades Darker‘s “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” Sia for “Dusk Till Dawn,” and SHAED on “Trampoline.”
Meanwhile, the Zayn linkup is Jisoo’s first release since her excellent solo EP Amortage, which featured “Earthquake,” “Hugs & Kisses,” and “Your Love.” She’s on tour with Blackpink currently, with shows scheduled through late January.
