On Friday, the pop star released \u201cDear Me,\u201d a song Warren wrote to herself,  featured on <em>Diane Warren: Relentless<\/em>, a new MasterClass documentary on the songwriter that released earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cWe all know that Diane Warren is one of the most iconic songwriters of our time, but many people don\u2019t know that my connection with her is multigenerational,\u201d Kesha said in a statement, reminiscing on her mother Pebe Sebert writing with Warren in the Eighties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cOnce my music broke into the scene in 2008, we have worked on projects together and every song more iconic than the next, but none of them ever were publicly released,\u201d Kesha said. \u201cThis song was so special for her to ask me to sing. I hope you all love the movie, and Diane, I hope I did your song justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWhile the song is written about and to herself, Warren explained in a statement that it\u2019s for anyone who\u2019s wanted to tell her younger self that \u201cit\u2019s going to get better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe new song is featured in <em>Diane Warren: Relentless<\/em>, a Bess Kargman documentary released on MasterClass, which features interviews with Cher, Common, Gloria Estefan, David Foster, and Jenifer Hudson about Warren\u2019s genius songwriting and work ethic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWarren has been nominated for sixteen Academy Awards for her songs written for films. This year she\u2019s nominated for \u201cThe Journey\u201d from <em>The Six Triple Eight<\/em>.
