On Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/npr\/\" id=\"auto-tag_npr\" data-tag=\"npr\">NPR<\/a> released the video for the musician\u2019s visit to the beloved live performance series as she serenaded the room with a breezy, four-song set.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWebster opened her performance with a jazzy, flowing rendition of \u201cIn a Good Way\u201d from 2021\u2019s <em>I Know I\u2019m Funny Haha<\/em>, enhancing the track with a guitar solo from Matthew Stoessel near the end of the song. The performance continued with a rendition of \u201cBut Not Kiss\u201d from her 2024 album,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/faye-webster-underdressed-at-the-symphony-1234977804\/\"> <em>Underdressed at the Symphony<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cI want to sleep in your arms but not kiss\/I long for your touch but don\u2019t miss,\u201d she opened the track backed by its piano melodies and soft pedal steel. \u201cDon\u2019t want to regret any of this.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Faye Webster: Tiny Desk Concert\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1ul9aWg0AQo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWebster played her latest album\u2019s title track, \u201cUnderdressed at the Symphony,\u201d before introducing her longtime band and her string-playing \u201cspecial guests.\u201d Webster closed the set with \u201cJonny,\u201d replacing the horns on the original recording with the dreamy strings from her accompanying quartet, and its spoken-word reprise dedicated to an ex-lover she\u2019s letting go. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cYes, Jonny, I\u2019ll say it\/This is a love song, isn\u2019t it?\u201d she muses. \u201cYes, well, I guess this is how it ends\/A strange poem about a plain and ready white wall\/One with many questions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWebster appeared on a digital-exclusive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/faye-webster-underdressed-at-the-symphony-atlanta-yachty-1234978713\/\">cover of <em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>\u2018s Future of Music issue last year, which highlighted her \u201cno-fucks-given blend of indie pop, R&amp;B stoner jams, and wistful folk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve always thought it\u2019s really important that people see me as a regular guy,\u201d Webster told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> for the profile. \u201cI think a lot of the anxiety and the tension I feel is because I am a regular guy, and when people idolize me, it makes me uncomfortable, because I don\u2019t even idolize myself.
