\n\tTeddy Swims<\/a> attended the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday evening as a first-time performer and Best New Artist nominee. Before he took the stage<\/a> to perform \u201cLose Control\u201d in an eccentric, flower-covered white trench coat, the musician walked the red carpet in a tan suit and hat combo covered in gold, bronze, and cream-colored pearls. Shortly after the ceremony, Sensen Lii \u2014 who founded the Chinese designer label Windowsen \u2014 shared a statement claiming Swims\u2019 stylist Christian Stroble initially approached them to acquire a \u201cpearl suit\u201d for Swims to wear, but sourced the outfit from a \u201csimilar look\u201d when the brand turned down his request. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe clearly informed him it was a couture piece made for another artist,\u201d Lii shared on Instagram beneath a photo comparing Swims\u2019 suit to the Windowsen suit custom designed for the Chinese singer-songwriter Silence Wang. The label previously designed the custom couture gown Cardi B wore the 2024 Met Gala. \u201cSince it was made specifically to order, it cannot simply be replicated,\u201d Lii continued. \u201cWe were shocked to see this similar look appear on the 2025 Grammy red carpet worn by none other than Mr Teddy Swims<\/a> last night. We do not appreciate this act and reserve the right to seek further action.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tStroble has since issued an apology to both Windowsen and the \u201cbroader fashion community\u201d for the \u201clikeness\u201d of the outfits. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cUpon reflection, I understand the weight and significance of the design process-how every stitch, fabric choice and detail is imbued with emotion, dedication and artistic vision,\u201d the stylist wrote on Instagram. \u201cIn overseeing the production of the jacket with a local artist here in Los Angeles, I failed to triple-check the design in a manner that ensured it was distinct enough against all the references I supplied, which in the end mirrored too closely to your work. I realize now that I should have been more diligent in protecting the integrity of your brand and the art that you create.\u201d<\/p>\n
