\n\tShakira<\/a> was forced to postpone her show in Lima, Peru tonight, Feb. 16, after suffering from an \u201cabdominal issue\u201d that landed her in the ER and kept her hospitalized on Sunday.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,\u201d she said in a statement<\/a> written in English and Spanish on her social media accounts on Sunday afternoon. \u201cThe doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI am very sad to not be able to take the stage today,\u201d she continued. \u201cI\u2019ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe Colombian star was slated to perform the first of her two-night stint at Estadio Nacional in Lima on Sunday. Currently, her second night in Lima scheduled for Monday is still slated to commence.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI hope to be released and well tomorrow so I\u2019m able to perform,\u201d she added. \u201cMy team and promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you. Thank you all for understanding, I love you all.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tShakira is in the midst of her world tour<\/a> in support of her first album in seven years, \u00a0Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,<\/a><\/em> which arrived last March. In October, she pushed back the U.S. leg<\/a> of the tour from last year to 2025 with arena and stadium dates in order to accommodate the demand. Following her Latin American dates, the tour heads to the U.S. beginning on May 13 in Charlotte, North Carolina at Bank of America Stadium and wraps on June 30 at Oracle Park in San Francisco.<\/p>\n \n\tShakira discussed her tour plans ahead of the run during her Rolling Stone <\/a><\/em>cover story<\/a> from last summer, where she revealed the concerts would \u201cbe the longest\u201d of her career, exceeding two hours \u2014 and according to setlist.fm<\/a>, she made good on her promise on the shows she\u2019s played so far.
