\n\tA Missouri woman has agreed to plea guilty to a federal charge<\/a> of mail fraud related to a scheme to defraud Elvis Presley<\/a>\u2018s family by attempting to auction off Graceland<\/a>. Her plea deal, filed Tuesday, dropped a count of aggravated identity theft.<\/p>\n \n\tThe woman, Lisa Findley, had been accused by the U.S. Department of Justice of orchestrating \u201can alleged scheme to defraud Elvis Presley\u2019s family of millions of dollars and steal the family\u2019s ownership interest in Graceland.\u201d Her plea deal was entered in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.<\/p>\n \n\tWhile the mail fraud count carries a maximum sentence of 20 years, prosecutors said they\u2019d recommend a sentence of less than five years, according to The<\/em> New York Times<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tPresley\u2019s granddaughter,\u00a0Riley Keough<\/a>, inherited the Graceland estate after\u00a0a battle<\/a>\u00a0with her grandmother, Priscilla. Keough\u00a0alerted a judge in May<\/a>\u00a0to Findley\u2019s plot, claiming that Findley\u2019s Naussany Investments and Private Lending LLC had placed a lien on the estate under the pretense that the late\u00a0Lisa Marie Presley<\/a>\u00a0(Keough\u2019s mother) had used it as collateral for a $3.8 million loan.<\/p>\n \n\tA rep for Graceland and Riley Keough did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s request for comment.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cAs part of the brazen scheme, we allege that the defendant created numerous false documents and sought to extort a settlement from the Presley family,\u201d Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Nicole M. Argentieri, head of the Justice Department\u2019s Criminal Division, previously said in a statement. \u201cNow she is facing federal charges.
