On Monday, Metallica<\/a> announced that it will link up with the American Red Cross<\/a> to motivate fans to donate blood during several of their M72 World Tour <\/a>stops this spring and summer. <\/p>\n \n\tLed by the band\u2019s All Within My Hands foundation, fans can give blood in exchange for a limited-edition t-shirt <\/a>prior to the group\u2019s headlining stadium shows. Among the cities included in the initiative are Nashville, Arlington, Denver, Houston, Atlanta, and Santa Clara, California. (See the full list below.)<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe Red Cross is incredibly appreciative that Metallica is helping fuel the blood supply this summer,\u201d\u00a0said Darren Irby, an exec at the Red Cross, in a press release.\u00a0\u201cThe band and their foundation are committed to making every tour stop a better place, and this selfless act of rallying fans to donate blood will leave a lifesaving legacy to so many communities.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tFans will be able to donate<\/a> their blood \u201cwhile the M72 crew<\/a> builds the stage\u201d the day before the performances to help trauma victims, those living with cancer, people living with sickle cell disease, and new mothers.<\/p>\n
