The guitarist easily pinpointed, \u201cIt would be a gig last September, on Friday the 13th, in Boston.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tOn that night, in an incident that spread across social media, Jane\u2019s Addiction\u2019s \u201cCore Four\u201d reunion quickly came to an end after singer Perry Farrell <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/janes-addiction-concert-perry-farrell-punches-dave-navarro-1235102389\/\">attacked<\/a> Navarro onstage; the band <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/janes-addiction-cancel-tour-perry-farrell-dave-navarro-fight-1235103124\/\">canceled the remainder of the tour<\/a> soon after, citing a \u201ccontinuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tNavarro told <em>Guitar Player<\/em> that the band\u2019s European reunion shows with returning bassist Eric Avery \u201cwere some of my favorite Jane\u2019s Addiction gigs of all-time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cThere was no bullshit: No props. No nothing onstage. No dancing, no pyro, and no gimmicks,\u201d Navarro said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cI\u2019ll just say that the experience prior to that [Boston] gig, when we were in Europe and gelling, really, for the first time \u2014 because at our ages, in our 50s and 60s, everybody\u2019s done what they\u2019re gonna do, and we weren\u2019t competitive with each other \u2014 we were getting along. There was no ego issue; it was just four guys making great music, just like we did in the beginning. I was just us on a stage, with people going fucking crazy,\u201d the guitarist said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tHowever, all that changed in Boston. While Navarro didn\u2019t want to start \u201cnaming names and pointing fingers,\u201d he said of the gig, \u201cThere was an altercation onstage, and all the hard work and dedication and writing and hours in the studio, and picking up and leaving home and crisscrossing the country and Europe and trying to overcome my illness \u2014 it all came to a screeching halt and forever destroyed the band\u2019s life.
