Jury reaches verdict on all charges except racketeering conspiracy <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n\tThe jury in Sean Combs<\/a>\u2019 sex trafficking and racketeering trial reached a partial verdict, but remained divided on one count.\u00a0Deliberations are expected to continue Tuesday starting at 9 a.m. ET.<\/p>\n \n\tThe jury sent a note to Judge Arun Subramanian at around 4:05 p.m. saying that they\u2019d reached verdicts on four of the five charges against Combs, but remained divided on the racketeering conspiracy charge. The note said that there were jurors with \u201cunpersuadable views on both sides.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tWhile both the prosecution and defense told Subramanian that they wanted the jury to keep deliberating, they differed slightly on the best way to respond to the jury\u2019s note. Prosecutors asked for a modified Allen charge \u2014 essentially an instruction urging the jury to reach a verdict \u2014 while the defense said they believed such forceful language wasn\u2019t required at this time.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tSubramanian didn\u2019t appear particularly moved by either proposal. To the defense\u2019s, he said, \u201cThere\u2019s not much there,\u201d per CNN<\/a>. While he acknowledged that the prosecution didn\u2019t seem to call for an Allen charge, but more so a reiteration of the jury\u2019s duty to deliberate.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tWhile Subramanian expressed concern that telling the jury to \u201ckeep deliberating\u201d would not be a sufficient response, that\u2019s essentially what he told the jury before dismissing them for the day.<\/p>\n
