{"id":38797,"date":"2025-07-06T16:05:03","date_gmt":"2025-07-06T16:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/06\/why-ringo-starr-had-his-beatles-biopic-script-changed\/"},"modified":"2025-07-06T16:05:03","modified_gmt":"2025-07-06T16:05:03","slug":"why-ringo-starr-had-his-beatles-biopic-script-changed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/06\/why-ringo-starr-had-his-beatles-biopic-script-changed\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Ringo Starr Had His Beatles Biopic Script Changed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/ringo-starr\/\">Ringo Starr<\/a> said he was happy with the way his <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/beatles\/\">Beatles<\/a> biopic is progressing after he spent two days with director Sam Mendes dealing with issues in the script.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The drummer\u2019s story will be released in April 2028, alongside films focusing on the lives on bandmates <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/john-lennon\/\">John Lennon<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/paul-mccartney\/\">Paul McCartney<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/george-harrison\/\">George Harrison<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In a recent interview with the <i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/07\/02\/arts\/music\/ringo-starr-interview.html\" target=\"_blank\">New York Times<\/a><\/i>, Starr said he\u2019d had particular issues when he first read scenes that feature his first wife, Maureen Starkey Tigrett.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/beatles-biopics-photo-release-date\/\">Beatles Four-Part Biopic: Release Dates and Cast Photo<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201c<\/span>He had a writer \u2014 very good writer, great reputation, and he wrote it great, but it had nothing to do with Maureen and I,\u201d Starr reported. \u201cThat\u2019s not how we were. I\u2019d say, \u2018We would never do that.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The concerns were resolved when the pair met in London \u2013 but Starr expressed doubts over Mendes being able to meet the deadlines attached to the four-movie project. \u201cBut he\u2019ll do what he\u2019s doing, and I\u2019ll send him peace and love,\u201d the drummer said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He and Maureen Cox married in 1965 and had three children together, including former Who drummer Zak Starkey. They divorced in 1975 and she went on to marry Hard Rock Cafe co-founder Isaac Tigrett, and died of cancer in 1994, aged 48.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">Why Ringo Starr\u2019s Songwriting Made The Beatles Laugh<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\">In the same article, Starr joked about trying to write songs for the Beatles, saying: \u201cIt\u2019s hard to come to the front when you\u2019ve got John and Paul. I\u2019d say, \u2018I\u2019ve got this song.\u2019 And halfway through they\u2019d all be laying on the floor laughing, because I wasn\u2019t writing new songs. I was writing new words to old songs!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Surviving colleague McCartney observed of their lifelong friendship: \u201cWith John and George not here, I think we realize nothing lasts forever.
