{"id":39087,"date":"2025-07-09T14:54:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T14:54:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/09\/king-crimson-is-recording-a-new-album\/"},"modified":"2025-07-09T14:54:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T14:54:11","slug":"king-crimson-is-recording-a-new-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/09\/king-crimson-is-recording-a-new-album\/","title":{"rendered":"King Crimson Is Recording a New Album"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/king-crimson\/\">King Crimson<\/a> singer and guitarist Jakko Jakszyk revealed the band are working on a new studio album \u2013 although he has no idea if or when it might be released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He said the final live lineup of <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/robert-fripp\/\">Robert Fripp<\/a>\u2019s band, which last toured in 2021, had been building the record over time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Jakszyk unveiled the development while talking about his addition to Crimson in 2013, after having loved the group for years and working on the collaborative album <i>A Scarcity of Miracles<\/i> with Fripp two years earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/king-crimson-jakko-jakszyk-interview-2017\/\">King Crimson\u2019s Jakko Jakszyk: No Lineup Compares to This One<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldminemag.com\/columns\/21st-century-renaissance-man-jakko-m-jakszyk-acts-alone\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Goldmine<\/em><\/a>: \u201cWhen Robert eventually phoned\u2026 to inform me that he decided to re-form the band and to ask if I would be the lead singer and second guitarist, one of the first people I phoned excitedly\u2026 was a bass player called Nick Beggs. Nick\u2019s response was, \u2018Well, that\u2019s the longest audition in rock history!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">He reflected: \u201cIt was an amazing thing to have done, and in a way, part of it\u2019s still happening. As we speak, we\u2019re doing a King Crimson studio album.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cWhen that will come out and what format or how \u2013 that\u2019s beyond my brief. But yeah, we\u2019ve been doing it piecemeal, and then a couple of months ago, the management said, \u2018Can we?\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cI\u2019ve been recording that with a view to it coming out in some format at some point. But who knows when?\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p3\">Will King Crimson Ever Play Live Again?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\">Jakszyk confirmed that Tony Levin, Mel Collins, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison and Jeremy Stacey were also involved in the project, which would include material they performed during their most recent tours. \u201cThe studio versions of those pieces and some other bits and pieces will emerge,\u201d he said. \u201cI think so.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">He also discussed the upcoming reissue of <i>A Scarcity of Miracles<\/i>, which will be significantly different from the original. \u201cBecause of the nature of how we made that record, there\u2019s lots of improvisation and seriously alternate versions of things that we didn\u2019t release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cThere also are future plans for some live film of us playing in various places.
