On Wednesday night, July 9, British punk-rap duo Bob Vylan<\/a> played their first show in England since their controversial set<\/a> at Glastonbury<\/a> where frontman Bobby Vylan led the crowd in a chant of \u201cDeath, death to the IDF.\u201d The gig took place at the 100 Club, in the Soho neighborhood of London, and found Bobby Vylan acknowledging the controversy surrounding the band.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m gonna try to keep my talkin\u2019 to a minimum today,\u201d Vylan said, according to footage shared by The Standard<\/em><\/a>, \u201c\u2019cause that\u2019s what got us in trouble in the first fuckin\u2019 place!\u201d Members of the crowd then began chanting, \u201cDeath, death to the IDF,\u201d at which point Vylan said, \u201cNo, no, no, no, no, you\u2019re gonna get me in trouble. You\u2019re gonna get me in trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cApparently, every other chant is fine,\u201d Bobby Vylan continued, \u201cbut you lot will get me in trouble.\u201d He then led a chant of \u201cFree, free Palestine,\u201d and added, \u201cWe\u2019re gonna stick with the classics, all right?\u201d<\/p>\n The Avon and Somerset Police has been investigating<\/a> whether Bobby Vylan\u2019s comments at Glastonbury, aimed at the Israeli Defense Forces, constitute a criminal offense. As noted by The Guardian<\/em><\/a> and The Independent<\/em><\/a>, the Metropolitan Police is also investigating Vylan for allegedly saying, during a concert at London\u2019s Alexandra Palace, in May, \u201cDeath to every single IDF soldier out there as an agent of terror for Israel. Death to the IDF.\u201d<\/p>\n Following their set at Glastonbury, Bob Vylan were dropped<\/a> by United Talent Agency, had their U.S. visas revoked<\/a> by the Trump administration, and were removed<\/a> from the lineup of a Manchester music festival. Glastonbury organizers said<\/a> they were \u201cappalled\u201d by the band\u2019s comments, and the BBC apologized<\/a> for broadcasting the performance.<\/p>\n
