She spoke out again at the 2025 BET Awards, when she used her Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award acceptance speech<\/a> to criticize the ruthless deportations<\/a> being carried out by ICE under the Trump administration and other global injustices.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI was born to do this,\u201d Doechii recently told British Vogue<\/a><\/em>. While some artists might resist speaking out <\/a>for fear of how their words may be received<\/a>, the rapper is embracing the power that comes with using the platform she has. \u201cI\u2019m not that desensitized, and it felt right,\u201d she said. \u201cI felt like I needed to use that moment, and they were live, so it wasn\u2019t shit they could do about it.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tDoechii\u2019s BET Awards speech quickly became one of the most viral and memorable moments of the evening.
