\n\tAJ McLean<\/a> is in \u201cthe best head space I\u2019ve ever been in my life.\u201d In a new interview with People<\/a> published on Thursday, the Backstreet Boy reflected on how he is focused on his sobriety<\/a> journey after going through a relapse several years ago.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cTowards the end of the DNA tour, I got sober again for the last time,\u201d McLean told the outlet. (In 2023, he also told People that he was celebrating two years of sobriety at the end of September.)<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI\u2019m sticking this one out all the way. It\u2019s a daily thing,\u201d he said. \u201cBut I have finally done what has been suggested amongst the sober community, and my life has flipped in a positive way.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tMcLean says that these days he focuses on going to the gym \u201csix days a week\u201d and has created a \u201chealthy balance between family and work.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI\u2019ve discovered new verbiage, such as boundaries, never really had those. Now I have those, which is a blessing,\u201d he said. \u201cAJ is a member of a group. He is a persona, but he doesn\u2019t define me as an individual. Alexander James is who I am.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tBack in 2020, McLean told People<\/a> that he had struggled with his sobriety and was 10 months sober after hitting \u201cmany rock bottoms\u201d while being in and out of sobriety.<\/p>\n
