Wolf Alice<\/a> have released \u201cThe Sofa<\/a>,\u201d the second single from their forthcoming new album, The Clearing<\/em><\/a>. The track\u2019s music video, directed by Fiona Jane Burgess<\/a>, finds bandleader Ellie Rowsell lounging on a couch that moves across town. Watch it below.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s about not trying so hard to figure everything out, reflecting on getting older and trying not to agonize over things that have or haven\u2019t happened in your life,\u201d Rowswell said of \u201cThe Sofa\u201d in a press statement. \u201cIt\u2019s also about trying to get to grips with the polarizing aspects of one\u2019s life when you\u2019re in a band. You\u2019ve just played a huge tour\u2014and you come home, and you have your dinner on the sofa. For me, it\u2019s summed up in how I treat TV. I used to never watch the same thing twice because I thought I\u2019ve got so much to discover! And now I\u2019m like, It\u2019s OK if I just want to rewatch Peep Show<\/em> for the 13th time.\u201d<\/p>\n The Clearing<\/em> is out August 22. (The album was recently bumped up a week<\/a> from its original August 29 release date.) The British rock quartet worked on its follow-up to 2021\u2019s Blue Weekend<\/em><\/a> with renowned producer Greg Kurstin. The new album\u2019s lead single, \u201cBloom Baby Bloom<\/a>,\u201d arrived in May.<\/p>\n Wolf Alice recently performed<\/a> at Glastonbury<\/a> as part of their European tour. They begin a tour of North America<\/a> in September and have more European shows lined up for November and December.<\/p>\n
