Jeff Tweedy<\/a> is releasing a triple album. The Wilco<\/a> frontman will share the 30-song Twilight Override<\/em><\/a> on September 26 via dBpm<\/a>. Tweedy has today released four new songs: \u201cEnough,\u201d \u201cOne Tiny Flower,\u201d \u201cOut in the Dark,\u201d and \u201cStray Cats in Spain.\u201d Listen to the tracks below.<\/p>\n Tweedy will support Twilight Override<\/em> with a full-band tour of North America and Europe. The North American shows take place in October, and the European dates are scheduled for February. See Tweedy\u2019s tour schedule below, and head here<\/a> to see his imminent tour dates with Wilco.<\/p>\n Tweedy recorded Twilight Override<\/em>\u2014his follow-up to 2020\u2019s Love Is the King<\/em><\/a>\u2014at his Chicago studio, the Loft<\/a>. The album has contributions from James Elkington, Finom\u2019s Sima Cunningham Macie Stewart, and Liam Kazar, along with Tweedy\u2019s sons, Spencer and Sammy.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you choose to do creative things, you align yourself with something that other people call God,\u201d Tweedy said in a press statement. \u201cAnd when you align yourself with creation, you inherently take a side against destruction. You\u2019re on the side of creation. And that does a lot to quell the impulse to destroy. Creativity eats darkness.\u201d<\/p>\n Tweedy added: \u201cSort of an endless bu\ufb00et these days\u2014a bottomless basket of rock bottom. Which is, I guess, why I\u2019ve been making so much stu\ufb00 lately. That sense of decline is hard to ignore, and it must be at least a part of the shroud I\u2019m trying to unwrap. The twilight of an empire seems like a good enough jumping-o\ufb00 point when one is jumping into the abyss.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Twilight\u2019 sure is a pretty word, though,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd the world is full of happy people in former empires, so maybe that\u2019s not the only source of this dissonance. Whatever it is out there (or in there) squeezing this ennui into my day, it\u2019s fucking overwhelming. It\u2019s difficult to ignore. Twilight Override<\/em> is my effort to overwhelm it right back. Here are the songs and sounds and voices and guitars and words that are an effort to let go of some of the heaviness and up the wattage on my own light.
