Though inspired by the Solnit book <em>Men Explain Things to Me<\/em>, there is a huge difference \u2014 mansplaining is usually unasked for, in this case I am the one asking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tBynre shared the first single and opening track \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/david-byrne-who-is-the-sky-everybody-laughs-1235360474\/\">Everybody Laughs<\/a>\u201d from <em>Who Is the Sky?<\/em> last month. The album marks his first since 2018\u2019s LP-turned-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-live-reviews\/david-byrne-american-utopia-broadway-review-901438\/\">Broadway show<\/a>-turned-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-reviews\/american-utopia-movie-review-david-byrne-spike-lee-1074126\/\">HBO film<\/a> <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/review-david-byrne-throws-a-weird-party-in-his-mind-on-american-utopia-200968\/\">American Utopia<\/a><\/em>. It arrives Sept. 5 and features contributions from Hayley Williams, St. Vincent, and the Smile drummer Tom Skinner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tByrne previously said in a statement that <em>Who Is the Sky?<\/em> is \u201ca chance to be the mythical creature we all harbor inside. A chance to step into another reality. I can step outside my comfort zone with the knowledge that I kind of know who I am by now and sort of know what I\u2019m doing. That said, every new set of songs, every song even, is a new adventure. There\u2019s always a bit of, \u2018how do I work this?\u2019 I\u2019ve found that not every collaboration works, but often when they do, it\u2019s because I\u2019m able to clearly impart what it is I\u2019m trying to do.
