Brandi Cyrus isn\u2019t mincing words when it comes to motherhood \u2014 it’s just not for her.<\/p>\n
The 38-year-old stepdaughter of Billy Ray Cyrus<\/a> (her biological father is Baxter Helson) opens up\u00a0in a recent episode of Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey<\/em><\/a>, where she and her mom, Tish Cyrus, joined the host for an honest conversation about love, life and family, including the topic of having children.<\/p>\n Well \u2026 not<\/em> having them, in Brandi\u2019s case.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t want my own kids,” she\u00a0tells Jowsey matter-of-factly.<\/p>\n When asked why, she replied without hesitation<\/a>: “Oh, I don\u2019t really like kids.\u201d<\/p>\n Her blunt honesty drew laughs from both Jowsey and her mom, but Brandi stood firm.<\/p>\n While she\u2019s not opposed to children in general \u2014 especially when they belong to someone else \u2014 she\u2019s made up her mind.<\/p>\n \u201cI was into dating someone with kids<\/a>,\u201d she adds. \u201cBut I don\u2019t want my own.\u201d<\/p>\n Tish, who married Prison Break<\/em> actor Dominic Purcell in 2023, appeared fully supportive of her daughter\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n Brandi is currently in a relationship with Matt Southcombe and has long maintained<\/a> a lower profile compared to her siblings.<\/p>\n After Billy Ray married Tish in 1993, he adopted Brandi and her brother Trace, now 36. The couple went on to have three more children<\/a> together: Miley, 32, Braison, 30, and Noah, 25.<\/p>\n Tish filed for divorce from Billy Ray in April 2022.
