Alan Jackson<\/a>\u00a0scored one of the biggest hits of his career with a song that surprised even him with its success.<\/p>\n Jackson was still in the early stages of his career when he and songwriter Jim McBride wrote “Chattahoochee,” which Jackson released as the third single from his A Lot About Livin’ (And a Little ‘Bout Love)<\/em> album in 1993.<\/p>\n The song came about from a random line McBride suggested.<\/p>\n “Jim McBride and I were trying to write an uptempo song and Jim came in with the line ‘Way down yonder on the Chattahoochee<\/em>,'” Jackson recalls in the liner notes to 1995’s The Greatest Hits Collection<\/em>.<\/p>\n “It kind of went from there. It’s a song about having fun, growing up and coming of age in a small town \u2014\u00a0which really applies to anyone across the country, not just by the Chattahoochee. It also topped Billboard<\/em>‘s US Country Songs year-end chart, and went on to win CMA Awards for Single, Song and Music Video of the Year.<\/p>\n Alan Jackson has dropped $3 million on a brand-new mansion in Nashville, and the contemporary house is a far cry from his very traditional previous homes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Gallery Credit: Sterling Whitaker<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n After selling their spectacular Southern manor home in 2010, Alan Jackson and his wife moved to to what might be an even more impressive mansion, if that’s even possible. Their 5-bedroom, 8-bathroom, 22,012-square-foot estate in the same Nashville suburb of Franklin features bedrooms that are all well-appointed suites, while the formal dining and living areas are finished off with splendid arched doorways, oversized windows and elaborate woodwork. The residence also includes a bar, a media room and multiple indoor and outdoor fireplaces.
