{"id":41304,"date":"2025-07-18T08:25:20","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T08:25:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/18\/robbie-williams-previews-new-album-with-single-spies\/"},"modified":"2025-07-18T08:25:20","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T08:25:20","slug":"robbie-williams-previews-new-album-with-single-spies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/18\/robbie-williams-previews-new-album-with-single-spies\/","title":{"rendered":"Robbie Williams Previews New Album With Single &#8216;Spies&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<p>The British musician will unveil his 13th LP, <em>Britpop<\/em>, in October <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n\t\t<!-- do not apply CSS styles to this element! --><\/p>\n<div class=\"pmc-paywall\">\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/robbie-williams\/\" id=\"auto-tag_robbie-williams\" data-tag=\"robbie-williams\">Robbie Williams<\/a> has returned with a rousing new single, \u201cSpies.\u201d The track comes ahead of the British musician\u2019s forthcoming LP, <em>Britpop<\/em>, out Oct. 10. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cSpies\u201d was written by Williams with his long-time collaborators Karl Brazil and Owen Parker.\u00a0The song sees Williams reflecting on times past as he sings, \u201cWe used to stay up all night\/ Thinking we were all spies\/ Praying that tomorrow won\u2019t come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cI set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995,\u201d Williams said in a statement. \u201cIt was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British music. The new record is raw, there are more guitars and it\u2019s even more upbeat and anthemic than usual. I\u2019m immensely proud of this as a body of work and I\u2019m excited for fans to hear this album.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Robbie Williams - Spies (Official Lyric Video)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/X_wsV1skH0w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWilliams announced <em>Britpop<\/em> in May with single <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YfAFBOECxw4\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cRocket,\u201d<\/a> a collaboration with Black Sabbath\u2019s Tommy Iommi. Along with \u201cSpies,\u201d the musician shared the track list for <em>Britpop<\/em>, which notably includes a song titled \u201cMorrissey.\u201d The album is available for pre-order via Williams\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/robbiewilliams.com\/collections\/britpop\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAhead of the release of the album, Williams is on tour in Europe and the U.K. The Britpop Tour continues July 21 in Berlin at Waldb\u00fchne.
