\n\tDemi Lovato<\/a> is in the final stages of her ninth studio album. A source close to the project tells Rolling Stone<\/em> Monday that Lovato is embracing the electronic sound of some of her biggest pop hits on her next record, which is expected to drop later this year.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOver the past few years, Demi has found love, joy, and newfound confidence, making the choice to approach life with much more lightness and fun,\u201d the source tells Rolling Stone<\/em>, referring to her recent marriage<\/a> to Jordan \u201cJutes\u201d Lutes. \u201cShe took this sentiment into the studio, which can be felt in every track on this celebratory dance-pop album.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLovato tapped Zhone \u2014 the music maker behind \u201cSomeone for Me\u201d by Kylie Minogue, \u201cRush<\/a>\u201d by Troye Sivan, and \u201cJoyride<\/a>\u201d by Kesha \u2014 to executive-produce the upcoming project, which is expected to drop later this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tFans have already started to get a taste of DL9 with teasers<\/a> posted by Lovato of the album\u2019s lead single, \u201cFast.\u201d The music is a significant step away from the rock-leaning energy of her two last projects, 2022\u2019s Holy Fvck<\/em> and 2023\u2019s Revamped<\/a><\/em>, which reimagined her pop hits as rock tracks.<\/p>\n
