On Monday, the musician announced her album,\u00a0Fatal Optimist, out on October 10, which she views as the final installment in a trilogy of heartache albums, following 2021\u2019s <em>History of a Feeling<\/em> and 2024\u2019s <em>Weird Faith<\/em>. She also dropped single \u201cFeel Something\u201d and announced a tour. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u00a0\u201cFatal\u00a0Optimism is the innate hope for something magical. It\u2019s the weird faith that kicks in while knowing that there is just plain risk that comes with wanting someone or something,\u201d Diaz explained of the LP in a press release. \u201cIt\u2019s when you have no control over the outcome, but still choose to experience every moment that happens, and put your whole heart in it.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tDiaz worked on the album from a New Jersey studio and channeled the sound of isolation, according to a press release. She then went to SoCal to work with Gabe Wax at Infinite Family Studio to finalize the record. \u201cThis was the first time in my career that I stayed in this heavy place with the songs after leaving the studio rather than trying to escape it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l lrv-u-text-align-left  \">\n\tThe album features 11 tracks, including songs titled \u201cHeavy Metal,\u201d \u201cFlirting,\u201d \u201cTime Difference,\u201d and \u201cFeel Something,\u201d which she describes as being \u201cabout the deep yearning and desire to connect.\u201d (She also dropped that song Monday as the LP\u2019s lead single.)<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Madi Diaz - &quot;Feel Something&quot;\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rT93HUK96KE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s the moment when you\u2019re trying to call in the love that was lost,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s the first single off the album because it has the sense of urgency and panic that I felt at that first moment I noticed I was alone in my relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWith the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/album-announcement\/\" id=\"auto-tag_album-announcement\" data-tag=\"album-announcement\">album announcement<\/a>, the singer also shared dates for her upcoming tour, which will take place in October and November.
