Now, the long, strange trip continues with two separate screenings on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/imax\/\" id=\"auto-tag_imax\" data-tag=\"imax\">IMAX<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tDead &amp; Company \u2014 the offshoot that celebrated its 10th anniversary this year with another residency at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/dead-company-2025-sphere-1235191812\/\">the Sphere in Las Vegas<\/a> \u2014 will livestream the last of their three shows in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/dead-company-celebrate-anniversary-with-shows-san-francisco-1235337609\/\">San Francisco\u2019s Golden Gate Park<\/a>. That live IMAX event takes place on Aug. 3, and features an opening set by the Trey Anastasio Band. The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imax.com\/movie\/dead-and-company-live-in-imax-from-golden-gate-park\">tickets <\/a>come with a poster and lanyard.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn addition, <em>The Grateful Dead Movie<\/em> will hit IMAX screens in select theaters on Aug. 14 (with an advanced preview on Aug. 13). The 1977 film captures the band\u2019s five-night stand at San Francisco\u2019s Winterland Ballroom in October of 1974, what they believed at the time to be their final run of shows. Just before\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/phil-lesh-grateful-dead-dead-1234809976\/\">bassist Phil Lesh died\u00a0<\/a>last fall, Bobby Weir <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/bobby-weir-grateful-dead-company-interview-1235290296\/\">told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>the band was considering reuniting for the anniversary. \u201cI think when Phil checked out, so did that notion, because we don\u2019t have a bass player who\u2019s been playing with us for 60 years now,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd that was the intriguing prospect. \u2026 I think you need somebody holding down the bottom. Phil had all kinds of ideas that were pretty much unique to him. I grew up with Phil holding down the bottom in his unique way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tHe added: \u201cI suppose I could go back out. I wouldn\u2019t put anybody in his place, so it would be a trio at this point. It\u2019d be me and two drummers. I\u2019d have to think about that.
