Venice Film Festival<\/a> has unveiled a monster lineup for its 2025 edition, including world premieres of new features from Jim Jarmusch, Yorgos Lanthimos, and Noah Baumbach. The festival is set to open with Paolo Sorrentino\u2019s La Grazia<\/em>, before a slate that includes Jarmusch\u2019s comedy-drama Father Mother Sister Brother<\/em><\/a>, starring Cate Blanchett, Adam Driver, and Tom Waits<\/a>; Lanthimos\u2019 sci-fi Bugonia<\/em>, with Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons; Baumbach\u2019s Jay Kelly<\/em> (George Clooney, Adam Sandler, and Laura Dern); Luca Guadagnino\u2019s #MeToo-themed thriller After the Hunt<\/em> (Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield, and Ayo Edebiri); and Benny Safdie\u2019s Nala Sinephro<\/a>\u2013scored UFC movie The Smashing Machine<\/em> (Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt). The festival takes place from August 27 to September 6 as part of Venice Biennale.<\/p>\n Other feature film premieres include Gus van Sant\u2019s first in seven years, the Bill Skarsgard\u2013starring Dead Man\u2019s Wire<\/em>; Kathryn Bigelow\u2019s first in eight, the geopolitical thriller A House of Dynamite<\/em>, with Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson; Olivier Assayas\u2019 The Wizard of the Kremlin<\/em>, about the rise of a fictional Putin spin doctor; Park Chan-wook\u2019s Decision to Leave<\/em> follow-up No Other Choice<\/em>; Fran\u00e7ois Ozon\u2019s Camus adaptation L\u2019\u00c9tranger<\/em>; and Guillermo del Toro\u2019s Frankenstein<\/em>.<\/p>\n Several notable documentaries will premiere, too, including\u00a0Sofia Coppola\u2019s Marc Jacobs doc Marc by Sofia<\/em>, Werner Herzog\u2019s Ghost Elephants<\/em>, and Lucrecia Martel\u2019s Nuestra Tierra<\/em>, about colonialism in Latin America and the murder of Indigenous leader Javier Chocobar.<\/p>\n A Charlie Kaufman short, How to Shoot a Ghost<\/em>, starring Jessie Buckley, will also premiere out-of-competition, as will Broken English<\/em>, Jane Pollard and Iain Forsyth\u2019s documentary on the late<\/a> Marianne Faithfull.<\/p>\n
