Sometimes, she’s not.<\/p>\n “Yeah, you got me throwing blue strips \/\u00a0Bare\u00a0t–s in the strip club \/\u00a0Throwing ones at your\u00a0bi–h \/\u00a0And I know you know what’s going on \/\u00a0I’m going home, l’ma take it off for him \/\u00a0I’ma strip down all your wrongs, yeah,”<\/em> she sings during the pre-chorus of “Blue Strips.”<\/p>\n If you think\u00a0Murph’s\u00a0video is pornography, ask yourself this question:\u00a0How would you feel had you seen this piece of content on Netflix?<\/p>\n What if this was a three-and-a-half-minute scene from an art house film?<\/p>\n That kind of context normalizes the more provocative scenes to the point that you have to ask if the issue is the music video, or the channel.<\/p>\n The art, wardrobe, message and direction of “1965” is actually quite stunning, and it all works together to make Murph’s point about\u00a0misogyny\u00a0in 2025 clear.<\/p>\n The extent to which Murph is seeking attention by creating and releasing this video will forever be argued, but she deserves recognition for challenging convention. The video for “1965” is a creative risk unlike any in recent country music history.
