\n\tAsk Kurt Vile<\/a> about his favorite singer-songwriters working today, and there\u2019s a good chance he\u2019ll tell you to check out Luke Roberts<\/a>, an East Nashville-raised peer whose music he\u2019s been tuned into for upwards of 15 years. \u201cHis songwriting, his delivery, his recording \u2014 they\u2019re just classic songs,\u201d says the Philly rocker. \u201cIt\u2019s sort of in the Nashville tradition, except he\u2019s his own unique weirdo.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIf there\u2019s one thing Vile knows, it\u2019s unique weirdos, and over the years, he\u2019s done what he can to help introduce more people to Roberts\u2019 music. This week, he\u2019s giving his longtime pal the biggest co-sign available, releasing a new EP centered on Roberts\u2019 song \u201cClassic Love,\u201d a bittersweet, slow-rolling ballad <\/strong>that he\u2019s wanted to do something with for years.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe always knew it was just extra special,\u201d Vile says. \u201cIt\u2019s so great. Great enough that I built a whole EP around it.\u201d<\/p>\n
