Chance the Rapper<\/a> has announced a release date for his long-awaited second album Star Line.<\/p>\n

According to the rapper\u2019s website, Star Line will be released on August 15 and fans can pre-order the album in various formats now.<\/p>\n

Chance has not yet unveiled a tracklist for the project but did recently drop a song with Lil Wayne and Smino although it is not yet known if it will make the album.<\/p>\n

It will be his first album since 2019\u2019s The Big Day<\/em> which was not well received by fans.<\/p>\n

The Chicago rapper has been teasing a project entitled\u00a0Star Line<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>for a while but announced that he was putting it back because he didn\u2019t like how fans were talking about his work.<\/p>\n

In a video posted on Instagram last year, the Chance laid out his issues with his followers referring to his upcoming project as \u201cthe album\u201d and not its official title when interacting with him on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlright, so this was the main point I was trying to make: stop calling it \u2018the album,\u2019\u201d he said while riding on his tour bus. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t mean that in an ungrateful way. I\u2019m grateful that people are putting in my comments, \u2018Drop the album.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not finna drop the album until y\u2019all start calling it\u00a0Star Line<\/em>. I\u2019m not gonna drop the project, I\u2019m not gonna do these installations \u2014 I got so much shit ready. But I hope that y\u2019all understand that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chance continued: \u201c\u2018Drop the album\u2019 \u2014 that\u2019s for all the other artists, for everybody else whose work I also appreciate. But what I\u2019m doing is something different. It\u2019s something very specific. It\u2019s called\u00a0Star Line<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo if y\u2019all gonna press me for the project, don\u2019t put \u2018drop the album\u2019 in my comments \u2019cause it makes me feel like y\u2019all don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on. I\u2019ve been saying one specific phrase for like two, three years now. I\u2019ve been saying\u00a0Star Line<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chanco then said that if fans start calling it Star Line, then he may release the album sooner: \u201cIf y\u2019all say, \u2018Drop\u00a0Star Line<\/em>\u2018 enough, it\u2019s gonna make me drop\u00a0Star Line<\/em>. When y\u2019all say \u2018the album,\u2019 it confuses me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
