\n\tAshley McBryde<\/a> wants to normalize not drinking alcohol in a town built on booze. On Friday, the country singer announced she\u2019s opening Redemption Bar, a non-alcoholic bar and music venue in Nashville that will be located inside Eric Church\u2019s honky-tonk, Chief\u2019s<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cAs someone who is three years sober, the typical response to \u2018do you have anything Non-Alcoholic?\u2019 is either \u2018why did you come to a bar if you aren\u2019t gonna drink?\u2019 or \u2018you can have soda water and a lime I guess,\u2019\u201d McBryde says. \u201cSome of my favorite places to socialize became wildly unaccommodating when the only thing that changed was what was in my cup.\u00a0 \n\t\u00a0\u201cIt was vital that I create a space where\u00a0not<\/em>\u00a0drinking is the forethought \u2013 normalized,\u201d she continues. \u201cYou can get alcohol drinks in Redemption too, because everyone is welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tRedemption Bar will set up shop on the fifth floor of Chief\u2019s beginning Aug. 28. It\u2019ll also place an emphasis on live music, especially by working songwriters. McBryde\u2019s own songwriting, like \u201cBible and a .44\u201d and \u201cGirl Goin\u2019 Nowhere,\u201d is what helped launch her career.<\/p>\n
