Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a> fans who love spatial audio might be delighted to know that the band\u2019s Use Your Illusion<\/em> albums have been remixed in Dolby Atmos format. But the kicker is that they\u2019re unlikely to be released.<\/p>\n The pair of 1991 LPs were handed over to British prog icon Steven Wilson, who\u2019s been nominated for six Grammy awards in a career with Porcupine Tree, Storm Corrosion and acclaimed solo work.<\/p>\n Since 2009 he\u2019s been remixing records by a wide range of musicians including Black Sabbath<\/a>, Pink Floyd<\/a>, the Who<\/a>, Elton John<\/a>,\u00a0Chic<\/a>, Kiss<\/a> and others. But in a recent interview with Scars And Guitars<\/em> (video below) he revealed that his 2022 treatment of Use Your Illusion I<\/em> and II<\/em>, a planned part of that year\u2019s reissue set, had been rejected by Axl Rose<\/a>\u2019s band \u2013 save for one single track.<\/p>\n READ MORE:<\/strong> Guns N\u2019 Roses \u2018Use Your Illusion’: The Stories Behind Every Song<\/a><\/p>\n Asked if he\u2019d faced any challenges on the GN’R project, Wilson said: \u201cWell, the challenges were the band didn\u2019t like what I was doing. That came through the record company. … I did it all, and then the band basically vetoed it all.<\/p>\n \u201cSo the only thing that ever came out was my remix of ‘November Rain’,<\/a> with a real orchestra added. And that was a shame. … I think I worked on about 40 songs, including outtakes, B-sides and God knows what else. And then the band basically turned around and decided they didn\u2019t like it.
