\n\tA former Yeezy<\/a> staffer who says Kanye West<\/a> subjected her to a \u201ccalculated campaign\u201d of antisemitic and sexual harassment is demanding the rapper cover nearly $100,000 in legal fees that she purportedly racked up fighting his failed attempt to dismiss her lawsuit.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe marketing specialist, who sued in February<\/a> as a Jane Doe, claims her turbulent tenure working for Yeezy in late 2023 and 2024 was filled with verbal abuse, discrimination, and \u201cconstant degradation of women.\u201d She claims West, also known as Ye, sent her harassing texts reading, \u201cWelcome to the first day of working for Hitler,\u201d and \u201cHail Hitler,\u201d before her abrupt termination when she reported West\u2019s behavior to her manager. She further claims West once texted her a photo of a nude woman and ordered her to work on his Yeezy Porn venture against her wishes.<\/p>\n

\n\tWest, 48, was sued individually along with his company. In April, he filed his motion to strike the complaint, claiming the ex-staffer was trying to \u201csuppress\u201d his constitutionally protected right to artistic expression. \u201cYe is not merely a creator; he is art,\u201d the filing said. \u201cYe\u2019s public and private personas form a continuous, provocative performance that challenges societal taboos surrounding race, religion, gender, power, politics, and censorship.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA Los Angeles County judge denied West\u2019s motion in a June 30 ruling. Judge Theresa M. Traber said the motion was \u201crife with defects, specious arguments, and misstatements of law.\u201d\u00a0She said the declarations West submitted from alleged witnesses, including one from West\u2019s self-described chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, were \u201ctotally lacking in personal knowledge or proper foundation upon which to base their asserted opinions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn her scathing ruling, Judge Traber said the motion was \u201cfrivolous and\/or solely intended to cause unnecessary delay,\u201d so West was on the hook to pay for Doe\u2019s \u201creasonable\u201d attorney\u2019s fees and costs. The woman is now asking for $99,720. A hearing to determine the fairness of that amount is set for Sept. 12.<\/p>\n

\n\tWest\u2019s lawyers did not respond to a request for comment on the amount. The rapper has been sued more than a dozen times<\/a> since his initial, highly public antisemitic tirade nearly three years ago.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn October 2022, West\u00a0tweeted his now-infamous plan<\/a>\u00a0to \u201cgo death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE.\u201d\u00a0Weeks later,\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/em>\u00a0published an investigation that found\u00a0West presided over a \u201ctoxic\u201d work environment at his Yeezy label<\/a>, telling one staffer that \u201cskinheads and Nazis were his greatest inspiration.\u201d West later apologized\u00a0in an Instagram post written in Hebrew<\/a>, but he again promoted antisemitic ideology, sporting\u00a0a T-shirt for the Norwegian metal musician Burzum<\/a>, who has been fined for antisemitism. West also promoted\u00a0Vultures 1<\/em>\u00a0with artwork that evoked Burzum\u2019s cover art.<\/p>\n

We need to stop excusing Ye\u2019s behavior. As a father, husband, and employer, he must be held accountable. Ye dared my client to sue, and we will see him in court.\u201d<\/p>\n
