\n\tCalifornia prosecutors have decided not to file a felony case against \u201cCrank That\u201d rapper Soulja Boy<\/a> following his arrest over the weekend on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cA case was declined due to insufficient evidence,\u201d a spokesman with the Los Angeles County District Attorney\u2019s Office wrote in an email sent to Rolling Stone<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tSoulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was arrested early Sunday after a vehicle he was riding in was pulled over by Los Angeles police for a traffic stop. Way was booked on suspicion of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, an LAPD spokesman confirmed to Rolling Stone<\/em>. The spokesman did not have information on the reason for the traffic stop.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to online jail records, Way remained in custody as of Tuesday morning. The rapper, 35, has a store for his SODMG clothing line on Melrose Avenue, near the location where he was arrested.<\/p>\n

\n\tWay made headlines in April when a jury awarded one of his former girlfriends $4 million in damages<\/a> for her claims he assaulted, sexually battered, and harassed her. He previously\u00a0was convicted of carrying a loaded firearm\u00a0in a vehicle following his 2014 arrest in L.A.\u2019s San Fernando Valley.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
