{"id":43038,"date":"2025-08-05T21:57:22","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T21:57:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/05\/lorrie-morgan-shares-regrets-after-her-late-husbands-death\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T21:57:22","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T21:57:22","slug":"lorrie-morgan-shares-regrets-after-her-late-husbands-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/05\/lorrie-morgan-shares-regrets-after-her-late-husbands-death\/","title":{"rendered":"Lorrie Morgan Shares Regrets After Her Late Husband&#8217;s Death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/tags\/lorrie-morgan\/\">Lorrie Morgan<\/a> is opening up about her husband&#8217;s tragic death from cancer in a new interview, revealing that she has deep regrets about how his healthcare unfolded in the last part of his life.<\/p>\n<h3>How Did Lorrie Morgan&#8217;s Husband Die?<\/h3>\n<p>Talking to <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/lorrie-morgan-late-husband-earth-shattering-cancer-journey-exclusive-11784774\" target=\"_blank\"><em>People<\/em><\/a> exclusively for the first time since her husband, Randy White, <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/lorrie-morgan-husband-dead-dies-mouth-cancer\/\">died of cancer<\/a> in early June, the &#8220;Something in Red&#8221; singer says she was apprehensive about his treatment plan from the outset after he was diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Morgan and her professional team arranged for him to receive treatment at a prominent cancer center, but he said no, opting instead for treatment locally in a small town in Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe went through months of radiation and chemo, and he just declined and declined,\u201d Morgan shares. \u201cHe was on tube feeding because he couldn\u2019t eat anything through his mouth because of the damn hole in the back of his throat.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was his decision, his body, I got it, but it\u2019s not where I wanted him to be, and not where his close friends wanted him to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>White, 72, was in hospice care at the end of his life, and he was surrounded by his children and Morgan&#8217;s children. She was sleeping with him in his hospital bed when she got up to go to the bathroom. When she returned, she found that he had passed in that brief time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe waited for me not to be there&#8221; before letting go, she says now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had everybody toast to him and tell their memories,\u201d Morgan shares. \u201cThey say that the last thing to go is the hearing, so we know that he heard us all expressing our love.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>How Many Times Has Lorrie Morgan Been Married?<\/h3>\n<p>White was Morgan&#8217;s sixth husband. She was famously married to fellow country star Keith Whitley until his <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/remember-how-keith-whitley-died\/\">tragic death from alcohol<\/a> in 1989, and before marrying White, she had just ended a very difficult marriage to country star Sammy Kershaw.<\/p>\n<p>They married in September of 2010, though their early days together were not without complication.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter my last divorce, I said I would never get married again, because that marriage destroyed my heart,\u201d Morgan states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen he started talking about marriage, I still wasn\u2019t sure that\u2019s what I wanted. But \u2026 I felt safe with him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He had a great sense of humor, which is very important to me. He believed in God, he believed in family, and he just made me feel safe,&#8221; she says. &#8220;He loved my children, and he loved my dogs. It was just a lot of qualities he had that were important to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The country singer admits she&#8217;s still upset over not pushing her late husband harder about his treatment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s days I\u2019m angry and I\u2019m mad at myself for not putting my foot down and saying, \u2018No, you\u2019re going here.\u2019 He was just determined,\u201d she shares.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI talk to him.
