Teyana Taylor<\/a> has revealed that she will be undergoing emergency vocal chord surgery after doctors found a noncancerous growth.<\/p>\n On her Instagram Stories, the singer wrote: \u201cI\u2019ve been quietly dealing with some vocal challenges for a while now. And after a lot of back and forth with my doctors, I\u2019ve been told I need vocal surgery immediately.<\/p>\n \u201cThey found a noncancerous growth on one of my cords that\u2019s been messing with my voice and causing real discomfort. Thankfully, we caught it & it\u2019s treatable\u2014but it does mean I need to pause and give myself time to fully heal.\u201d<\/p>\n She added: \u201cThat honestly breaks my heart. I don\u2019t take lightly what it means to show up for y\u2019all. I\u2019ve poured so much of myself into this next chapter\u2014especially the Escape Room<\/em>, which is still dropping August 22! So no worries there. It\u2019s the most personal body of work I\u2019ve ever created. and the timing\u2026 it\u2019s not lost on me. Just as I was getting ready to finally share this with you, life handed me my own unexpected \u2018escape room\u2019\u2014one I didn\u2019t ask for, but one I now have to find my way out of with patience, rest, and faith.\u201d<\/p>\n Even though Taylor has cancelled a number of upcoming appearances, she confirmed that her new album Escape Room will release as planned on August 22.<\/p>\n It will be her first album since 2020.<\/p>\n As well as new music, Taylor will also be seen in the new Paul Thomas Anderson movie One Battle After Another<\/em> alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Regina Hall.<\/p>\n Kendrick Lamar<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Beyonc\u00e9<\/a>\u2018s hit collaboration \u201cFreedom\u201d soundtracked the latest version of the trailer last month.<\/p>\n DiCaprio and Taylor star as former revolutionaries on the run from a white supremacist police officer with Kendrick and Bey\u2019s fiery anthem proving to be a fitting background to the trailer.<\/p>\n One Battle After Another<\/em> is scheduled for release on September 26.<\/p>\n Taylor previously won plaudits for her performance A Thousand and One<\/em> while she has also starred in films such as Coming 2 America<\/em>, The Book of Clarence<\/em> and the remake of White Men Can\u2019t Jump.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
