The drugs were heavily involved in its creation; they put me in a dark mindset. I felt like I had demons latched on to me. I needed to soundtrack the moodiness I was feeling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt first, I was doing bumps, but I had quickly worked my way up to heavier and steadier quantities. I\u2019d make lines that were as wide as my pinky and do them back-to-back throughout the day, every day. When I would get after it, I would really get after it. I was a maniac. That\u2019s why that second album was so drug-riddled, because that\u2019s what got me through. I wouldn\u2019t have been able to do it if I didn\u2019t have something to push me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cudi later writes: \u201cBy the time I was writing<em> Speedin\u2019 Bullet 2 Heaven<\/em> in 2015, I\u2019d come back to that moment, but in a much more real way. We had rented a house in Big Sur to get the album done. After we\u2019d finished a session, I\u2019d be alone Googling exit bags. I was thinking about a way I could actually do it. I was plotting it. There\u2019s a song at the end of <em>Speedin\u2019 Bullet<\/em> where I say good-bye, and that was meant to be my final album. I was going to kill myself at the end of that album, or before it came out, or during that cycle. I was not planning to live that year. Not many people around me expected me to either.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cudi\u2019s self-titled autobiography is set to be released on August 12.<\/p>\n<p>The rapper has been open in the past about his issues with drug use and previously admitted he went to rehab for cocaine addiction in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>He has also been forthright about his battles with mental health, mainly his struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/hiphopdx.com\/news\/kid-cudi-nearly-killed-himself-overdose\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kid Cudi has revealed that he once nearly killed himself with a drug overdose.
