\n\tWhen Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> was honored with a funeral procession <\/a>that snaked through his hometown of Birmingham, fans covered the Black Sabbath bridge and bench <\/a>with flowers, artwork, personal messages, merchandise, and more. \u201cOzzy forever,\u201d posters around the locations read. \u201cBirmingham will always love you.\u201d The Central Birmingham Business Improvement District is making sure this won\u2019t be forgotten as it works to preserve the thousands of items left in tribute.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Central BID<\/a> team has transported the offerings and started the process of \u201csorting through them at a secret location, large enough to accommodate the thousands of poignant messages, flowers and gifts,\u201d according to their official website. \u201cThey are ensuring they are preserved in the best possible condition, ready to be sent to the Osbourne family.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tA digital record will be created for all of the tributes, which is being \u201claid out and catalogued with care\u201d to ensure long-term preservation. Fans left behind \u201cguitars, mini amplifiers, angels, candles, plus lots and lots of toy bats,\u201d the Central BID shared. Black Sabbath shirts, plaques, and albums also appear in the collection.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Central BID shared images from the location, where the items have been sorted by type. In one image, a note signed by a fan named Angie reads, \u201cOzzy, your music has made my life so much better. You will always be missed.\u201d Another adds, \u201cTo Ozzy, Thank you for bringing the world metal. You are a legend. Rest easy, Prince of Darkness.\u201d Ozzy died of a heart attack <\/a>on July 22 at the age of 76.<\/p>\n
