\n\tKelly Clarkson<\/a>\u2018s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock<\/a>, has died at the age of 48. The cause was cancer, Blackstock\u2019s family confirmed in a statement to Rolling Stone<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cIt is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years,\u201d Blackstock\u2019s family said. \u201cHe passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThey added: \u201cWe thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family\u2019s privacy during this very difficult time.\u201d The Blackstock family said it would not be commenting further about Blackstock\u2019s death, and did not share specifics on Blackstone\u2019s illness.<\/p>\n \n\tThe news of Blackstock\u2019s death comes just a day after Clarkson postponed<\/a> several of her Las Vegas residency shows to be \u201cfully present\u201d with her family and kids while Blackstock dealt with his illness, which had not been publicly revealed yet. \u201cWhile I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children\u2019s father has been ill and at this moment,\u201d she wrote on Instagram Wednesday. \u201cI need to be fully present for them.\u201d <\/p>\n
