Late country legend Jeannie Seely<\/a> is set to be laid to rest in Nashville<\/a>, and fans can view her memorial service both in person and online.<\/p>\n Jeannie Seely’s funeral is set for Thursday (Aug. 14), at 10AM CT at the Grand Ole Opry<\/a> in Nashville.<\/p>\n Seely played the Opry 5,397 times \u2014 more than any other country star in its history\u00a0\u2014 and the iconic country music institution is billing her memorial service as “Jeannie Seely’s 5,398th Opry Show.”<\/p>\n The service will be open to the public.<\/p>\n Jeannie Seely’s celebration of life service will broadcast live on 650 AM WSM, and it will also\u00a0livestream at this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n In lieu of flowers, those who wish can make donations to the\u00a0Opry Trust Fund<\/a>, which has distributed more than $4.8 million to music industry members in need since 1965.<\/p>\n Her team also suggests fans can donate in her memory to an organization that supports animals in need.<\/p>\n Jeannie Seely scored her first country solo hit in 1966 with “Don’t Touch Me,” which reached No. 2 on\u00a0Billboard<\/em>‘s Hot Country Songs chart and won her a Grammy Award for Best Female Vocal Performance.<\/p>\n Seely went on to a string of hits that included “It’s Only Love,” “A Wanderin’ Man,” “I’ll Love You More (Than You Need),” “Can I Sleep in Your Arms” and more.<\/p>\n She was also an actress, launching her career with a cameo role in\u00a0Willie Nelson<\/a>‘s\u00a0Honeysuckle Rose<\/em>\u00a0in 1980.<\/p>\n She appeared in 2022’s\u00a0Changing Hearts<\/em>, as well as stage productions of\u00a0Takin’ It Home<\/em>\u00a0(1986),\u00a0The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas<\/em>\u00a0(1988),\u00a0Everybody Loves Opal<\/em>\u00a0(1990),\u00a0Always Patsy Cline<\/em>\u00a0(2001) and more.<\/p>\n Jeannie Seely\u00a0died<\/a>\u00a0on Aug. 1 of complications from an intestinal infection at the age of 85.<\/p>\n The country icon had been battling health issues for most of a year, which escalated after her husband, Gene Ward,\u00a0died<\/a>\u00a0in December of 2024.<\/p>\n We’re not even six months into 2025, and already country music has suffered some devastating losses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Gallery Credit: Sterling Whitaker<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nWhen Is Jeannie Seely’s Funeral?<\/h3>\n
