Brandon Blackstock<\/a>‘s\u00a0cause of death has been revealed.<\/p>\n In addition, information about where he passed and who was nearby is\u00a0included in notes passed to media this week.<\/p>\n Information from Silver Bow County (Montana) coroner Dan Hollis confirms that Blackstock died of natural causes after battling skin cancer (melanoma) for several years (via Fox News<\/a>).<\/p>\n He died on Aug. 7 at home in Butte, Mont., surrounded by his family. He was in hospice at the time of his passing.<\/p>\n News that Blackstock had cancer was a shock. Most had only learned he was ill a day prior when Clarkson revealed she’d be canceling some shows to be\u00a0with her children during a difficult time.<\/p>\n Management Company Starstruck Entertainment shared most of these details with the initial statement.<\/p>\n “We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time,” Blackstock’s company wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n Brandon Blackstock was Reba McEntire’s stepson, not her biological son. She says she loved and treated him like family during her marriage to Narvel Blackstock, Brandon’s father.<\/p>\n It’s not clear how close they remained after the divorce.<\/p>\n The talent manager’s birth mother is Narvel Blackstock’s first wife, Elisa Gilbert.\u00a0Hollywood Life<\/a>\u00a0shares that the couple was married from 1973 to 1988.<\/p>\n In addition to managing and being married to Clarkson, Brandon Blackstock previously worked with Carly Pearce<\/a>, Blake Shelton<\/a> and Rascal Flatts<\/a>.<\/p>\n The country trio’s Gary LeVox paid tribute<\/a> to his friend and “lifelong brother” shortly after his death.\u00a0“We have celebrated so many amazing times together and we made memories that will last the rest of my life,” he wrote.<\/p>\n Funeral plans for Blackstock have not been made public.<\/p>\n It’s a sorority you never want to be a part of.
