Madlib<\/a> and New York rapper Your Old Droog<\/a>\u2014who record together as Droogie Otis\u2014have recruited Killer Mike<\/a> for a new song. \u201cThe Edge\u201d features one of the first beats Madlib sent out after his life was upended<\/a> by the California wildfires, a press release notes. Watch the track\u2019s animated video below.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Edge is one of those songs I dreamed of making,\u201d Your Old Droog said in a statement. \u201cIt feels elevated. It feels like a suit-and-tie affair. It feels like an award show. It\u2019s great to share that figurative stage with Killer Mike.\u201d \u201cThe Edge\u201d will appear alongside previous<\/a> collaborations<\/a> with Boldy James<\/a> and Black Thought<\/a> on a forthcoming Droogie Otis project, the press release adds.<\/p>\n Last year, Killer Mike shared the album Michael & the Mighty Midnight Revival, Songs for Sinners and Saints<\/em><\/a>. He and Madlib are both in the midst of legal woes: Mike is currently suing<\/a> the security company responsible for his arrest<\/a> at the 2024 Grammys<\/a> and Madlib is in the midst of a court battle<\/a> with his former manager.<\/p>\n Read Paul A.
