\n\tJhayco<\/a> was arrested early Tuesday morning for cocaine<\/a> and cannabis possession after being seen by officers with \u201cwhite powder on his nose,\u201d the Miami-Dade County Sheriff\u2019s Office tells Rolling Stone<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe reggaeton <\/a>singer \u2014 real name Jesus Manuel Nieves Cortes \u2014 was driving a red two-door Corvette when he was pulled over on Southwest 8th Street around 3 a.m. The singer was allegedly going 5 miles per hour, and took over a minute to drive while on a complete stop, according to an arrest<\/a> affidavit reviewed by Rolling Stone<\/em>. He was then pulled over.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to the deputy\u2019s report, the officials saw that Cortes had \u201cwhite powder on his pants and white powder on his nose,\u201d and that they noticed a \u201cstrong odor\u201d of cannabis coming from his vehicle. Jhayco was then allegedly unable to hand over a driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n

\n\tDeputies say they found two pouches of cannabis with seven grams each, along with \u201cclear baggies with suspect powder cocaine,\u201d that held two grams of the illegal substance, inside his pockets.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAs we explained to the defendant [that] he was getting arrested for the cocaine, he spontaneously stated it was not cocaine, it was [tusi],\u201d read the report, referring to the drug cocktail, which can include ketamine, MDMA, opioids and other psychoactive substances.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to Miami-Dade\u2019s jail records reviewed by Rolling Stone<\/em>, the reggaeton star submitted a $3,000 bond \u2014 $2,500 for cocaine possession, $500 for possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana \u2014 and was booked on Tuesday at 4:24 a.m. ET.<\/p>\n

\n\tJhayco has yet to address the arrest online, and a rep for the singer did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s request for comment.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe arrest comes just a few days before he\u2019s set to perform at Monterrey\u2019s Dale MIXX festival. The singer\u2019s last album, Le Clique: Vida Rockstar (X)<\/em><\/a>, dropped in September 2024. The LP included songs like \u201cMami Chula\u201d with Quevedo, \u201cHolanda,\u201d and \u201cPassoa.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
