The trasher band’s global farewell trek kicks off next year<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n\tAfter 40-plus years, Dave Mustaine<\/a> is ready to put Megadeth<\/a> to rest. The thrasher announced plans for a final album and tour, and revealed a memoir is on the way.<\/p>\n \n\tMustaine posted<\/a> the announcement via his alter ego, Vic Rattlehead. The new album, titled The End Is Near<\/em>, will arrive next year. The LP follows 2022\u2019s The Sick, the Dying\u2026 and the Dead!<\/a> <\/em><\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThere\u2019s so many musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional,\u201d Mustaine said in a statement. \u201cMost of them don\u2019t get to go out on their own terms on top, and that\u2019s where I\u2019m at in my life right now. I have traveled the world and have made millions upon millions of fans and the hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye to them.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe can\u2019t wait for you to hear this album and see us on\u00a0tour,\u201d he continued. \u201cIf there was ever a perfect time for us to put out a new album, it\u2019s now.
