Reports that a Yellowstone<\/a><\/em> spinoff focused on Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler has been pushed to 2026 are grounded in fact, but\u00a0possibly untrue.<\/p>\n The show that most are calling Dutton Ranch<\/em> (apologies to Cole Hauser<\/a>)\u00a0was thought to be on track for fall. Then, an executive for Paramount said it wouldn’t be ready until 2026. So, which is it?<\/p>\n And what about another spinoff called Rio Palo<\/em>?<\/p>\n RELATED<\/strong><\/em>: The Taylor Sheridan Show That Everyone Quit Talking About<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Paramount CEO Chris McCarthy is the source for all Dutton Ranch<\/a><\/em> timeline news. During a Q1 company conference call, he said late 2025.<\/p>\n Then on July 31, he led the Q2 call and said 2026. So, which is it?<\/p>\n It’s possible McCarthy is an unreliable narrator, because during the Q2 call, he said Landman<\/em> would be delayed until December, and then two weeks later the show announced a Nov. 16 return.<\/p>\n Moral of the story: it’s all very fluid, and until there is a teaser video or a trailer announcing an official start date, assume nothing.<\/p>\n It’s just as likely the show begins next month as it is it starts in 2027.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, Texas news outlets began to write about extras being needed for a new Yellowstone<\/em> spinoff called Rio Palo<\/em> that would film in Ferris, Texas. The town’s mayor even celebrated the production.<\/p>\n There’s no show by that name. Filming for a Yellowstone<\/em> spinoff will pick up in Ferris, but the show in question is actually the unnamed Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler show.<\/p>\n Country Living<\/em><\/a> did the hard work of reaching out 101 Studios to confirm which show is filming in Texas and to confirm that the show we’re calling Dutton Ranch<\/em> will not be called Rio Palo<\/em>. There is no river called the Rio Palo in Texas.<\/p>\n Ferris is about 20 miles southeast of Dallas, which raises interesting, unanswered questions about why Beth and Rip would be there.<\/p>\n Most assumed their show would focus on their new life in Montana at the ranch they bought at the end of Yellowstone<\/em>.<\/p>\n The real-life marriage?
