\n\tThe first slate of performers for the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards<\/a> have been announced, with Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>, J Balvin<\/a>, and Alex Warren<\/a> all set to take the stage.<\/p>\n \n\tFor Carpenter, she\u2019ll be returning to the VMAs after making her debut at the show last year, where she also won Song of the Year for \u201cEspresso.\u201d Carpenter is up for eight awards this time around, including Video of the Year for \u201cManchild,\u201d<\/a> off her upcoming LP, Man\u2019s Best Friend<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tMeanwhile, J Balvin<\/a> is slated to perform his new single, \u201cZun Zun,\u201d alongside Justin Quiles and Lenny Tav\u00e1rez, after which he\u2019ll take the stage with DJ Snake for the live debut of their new song, \u201cNoventa.\u201d (This will mark DJ Snake\u2019s first time performing at the VMAs, as well.) Balvin is nominated for one VMA this year, Best Latin, for his song, \u201cRio.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tThe 2025 VMAs will feature two debut performances from Warren and singer-songwriter Sombr<\/a>. Both artists are up for Best New Artist, while Warren is also nominated for Best Pop and Song of the Year for \u201cOrdinary.\u201d<\/a> And Sombr is nominated for Best Alternative for his breakthrough tune, \u201cBack to Friends.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tAlong with the initial slate of performances, the VMAs also revealed their first two major honorees for 2025. Ricky Martin is set to receive the first Latin Icon Award, returning to the VMAs 26 years after making history as the first male Latin artist to win Best Pop Video in 1999 for \u201cLivin\u2019 la Vida Loca.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
