Lauren Alaina<\/a> has released a new song called “All My Exes,” a duet with\u00a0country newcomer, Chase Matthew<\/a>.<\/p>\n She tells\u00a0Taste of Country Nights<\/em><\/a>\u00a0that something happened while making this song that has never happened to her before.<\/p>\n Alaina explained how the two other songwriters, Ben Johnson and Whitney Phillips, had already had the chorus of the song done before sending it to Alaina to finish the verses.<\/p>\n “I don’t know that I’ve ever actually done that before,” she explains. “It was really fun because I was actually driving to the session knowing what I was going to write about.”<\/p>\n Alaina says that\u00a0typically she would show up [to the songwriting session] “with like three or four ideas,” of what a song could be about, whereas this one, she already knew what the song should be about.<\/p>\n “I wrote the first verse on the way to the writing session. Which is kinda crazy, I was like, in the car, recalling a time in my life, you know I’m married and have a daughter now, I wrote this about my past life.”<\/p>\n Specifically, the song is “about an argument I got into with an ex down on Broadway and just a crazy night that I had,” she says. “You know what’s so funny about this song, it’s actually my husband’s favorite.”<\/p>\n Given the subject matter, you wouldn’t expect it to be her husband’s favorite.
