Jason Aldean<\/a> was a surprise guest at Miranda Lambert<\/a>‘s Band Together Texas<\/a> benefit concert on Sunday (Aug. 17).<\/p>\n In addition to his lively rendition of his chart-topper “She’s Country,” the country singer invited Lambert on stage to sing a unique duet version of “Amarillo Sky.”<\/p>\n The song was fitting, given the show’s Texas theme, as it name-drops a city in the Lone Star State. The moment also stirred up some 2018 vibes, when the two released “Drowns the Whiskey.”<\/p>\n Aldean took the lead on the duo’s performancem with Lambert jumping in to add some harmonies on the song’s chorus.<\/p>\n The “Whiskey Drink” was a surprise guest for the fundraising show, and it worked out well since he was already in Texas.<\/p>\n Aldean’s\u00a0Full Throttle\u00a0Tour 2025 stopped at the venue, the Moody Center in Austin, just one night prior (Aug. 16).<\/p>\n Since he was in town, Aldean was a top choice to replace Kelly Clarkson<\/a> on the show’s lineup.<\/p>\n The talk show host and Texas native was booked to perform at Band Together Texas, but\u00a0pulled out of the show<\/a> last week after her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock died.<\/p>\n According to\u00a0Blackstock’s obituary<\/a>, funeral services for the talent manager were scheduled for the same day as Band Together Texas.<\/p>\n Lambert’s Band Together Texas was a huge success: The event raised more than $8.5 million<\/a> for flood victims. Funds from the show will help those affected by the torrential flooding that took place in central Texas over Fourth of July Weekend.<\/p>\n Band Together Texas brought together several Texas natives to entertain and generate donations. Parker McCollum<\/a>, Cody Johnson<\/a>, Ronnie Dunn<\/a>, Ryan Bingham<\/a> and more took the stage to perform during the show.<\/p>\n Celebrities like Matthew McConaughey<\/a>, Dennis Quaid<\/a> and other were also a part of the event.<\/p>\n Miranda Lambert has been a busy woman since her debut studio album Kerosene<\/em> arrived in 2005. In addition to several more albums and tours, the country singer scratched her entrepreneurial itch by starting a line of clothing and opening a bar.<\/p>\n She’s also continued to wear her heart on her sleeve with her MuttNation Foundation, which is dedicated to helping animals.
