Lauren Alaina<\/a> has only been a mom for two months, but she’s already been the target of online shaming by people who think she’s doing parenting all wrong.<\/p>\n During a guest appearance on\u00a0Taste of Country Nights<\/em><\/a>, Alaina opened up about a video she shared with fans recently and the unexpected backlash she received.<\/p>\n The clip was supposed to be lighthearted and funny \u2014 she’s pretending to be overwhelmed by the number of bottles she has to\u00a0wash<\/a> \u2014 so she really wasn’t anticipating some of the comments.<\/p>\n A woman named Nancy was particularly negative about Alaina’s decision to bottle-feed her\u00a0newborn daughter<\/a>, Beni Doll Arnold.<\/p>\n Related<\/em>: Lauren Alaina Shares Her Scary Birth Story\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Alaina\u00a0explains to us that she has been pumping and feeding through a bottle because her daughter is having problems latching.<\/p>\n “That video specifically was eye-opening to me,” the “Road Less Traveled” singer says. “There were a lot of negative comments on that post, Nancy was not alone.”<\/p>\n She says the mom-shaming has been pretty much constant since she welcomed baby Beni in June \u2014 something she really wasn’t prepared for as a new mom.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “People assumed I’m not breastfeeding and they shamed me for it,” she says, adding: “Which, by the way, if I didn’t wanna breastfeed my baby, that is my decision, so I don’t know why people thought they could come for me.”<\/p>\n She wishes people would simply keep their thoughts to themselves if they’re negative and unhelpful.<\/p>\n “I have friends that can’t breastfeed and they formula-fed their babies from the beginning and they’re fine,” Alaina continues. “People need to chill \u2014 like, who are you?”<\/p>\n She’s letting the hateful commentary slide off her back as much as she can as she’s soaking up all of the newborn snuggles.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Other than being occupied with her baby girl, Alaina just released “All My Exes<\/a>,” a new duet with Chase Matthew<\/a>.<\/p>\n The biggest song that Alaina has been a part of is her 2016 duet with Kane Brown<\/a>, “What Ifs.” That song is one of only a handful of country songs ever to be certified Diamond, meaning it has sold\u00a0more than 10,000,000 copies worldwide.<\/p>\n The singer has dealt with serious medical conditions since 2006.
